Welcome!

The Colne Engaine War Memorial Project is a community group set up in 2013 to raise money to build a new war memorial in our North Essex village.

We seemed to be one of the only villages in the country without a permanent memorial to commemorate those who have died while serving in the Armed Forces, so set about to build a space that could be used and enjoyed by all.

As of Spring 2016, we raised enough funds and our memorial now proudly stands in the centre of our village!

Join us on Sunday, 13 November 2016, for our first Remembrance Sunday service at the memorial.

Colne Engaine War Memorial - Dedicated 10 May 2016

NEWS FLASH!!
APRIL 2016 - We did it!!

Thanks to your generous donations and grants from various wonderful organisations, we have reached our target and work on building the memorial can finally get underway! Take a look at our Facebook video for a build update, or read our news page for details of our Dedication Service.

Thank you!

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors and those who have made donations, given us grants, let us rattle a fundraising box at their place of work, bid on an auction item, given their time and cheered us along - we are pleased and proud to have reached our target!
